ADAMS, Samuel

Samuel Adams, 72, prominent Warren County farmer, died at his home east of Johnsonville, at noon Tuesday.  He had been ill two days of a heart ailment.  Mr. Adams was born June 9, 1873 in Newell Township, Ill son of James H. and Margaret Blair Adams. He operated a hardware store in Covington prior to moving to the present farm home several years ago.  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Anna Adams, a daughter, Mrs. Esther Lang, Danville; a son, James A. Adams, WIlliamsport; a grandson, Paul Samuel Lang, with the Army at Memphis, Tenn and a granddaughter, Cheryl Louise Adams of Williamsport.  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the residence with Rev. Frank H. Kennedy pastor of Central Christian Church Danville officiating. Burial in Mt. Hope cemetery in Covington.  ---transcribed by kbz
